Posidonia@ derives from the biological fermentation of sea plant "Posidonia oceanica"  (using dead leaves, washed up on touristic  beaches) and selected products of agriculture (olive core, olive leaves, grape skin), without any chemical addition or process
 

The product is a matured peat-free compost made from composted sea grass "Posidonia oceanica". Graded particles are no larger than 15 mm with a substantial amount of organic fines, pH to be around 7 to 7.5. The product is free of physical contaminants, viable weed seeds and pathogens and shall be untreated by any additives. Is the nature's traditional compost, an excellent peat-free soil improver

All raw materials come from non- industrialized areas of Greece (Kefalonia island, Kyparissia bay and Marathon) with total absence of acid rain and air pollutions . 100% of the sea grass (species "Posidonia oceanica") origin shores have acquired a BLUE FLAG eco- label for beaches and marines

The product has been approved from the Austrian company as a product that its quality fills all the criteria as an A+ quality according to the Austrian, German and European direction.


Certification

 Certification by D.I.O. (National Organization for the Certification and Control of Organic Products). Procedures and raw materials utilized for the production of POSIDONIA® are in accordance with requirements and regulations of the E.U. (2092/91/appendix II/Part A) which refers to fertilizers and soil improvers that are allowed to use in organic farming.

 

 Ecological Product Award 

The Panhellenic Association of Environment Enterprises (PASEPPE) under the auspices of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) and with the support of the Union of Hellenic Chambers gave our company the 3rd AWARD FOR ECOLOGICAL PRODUCTS 2005-2006 within the framework of the candidacy for the competition of innovative products for the environmental protection in the European Union.

Application rate

Application of POSIDONIA® during planting of young trees or plants and throughout their life-circle, offers a good store of organic matter and contributes to their well-balanced growth because its properties act accumulatively


 

Pot- plants & containers

Pot-plants and containers:

•When planting new pots mix in an one POSIDONIA® to two or three soil ratio
•On already installed pots add POSIDONIA® as a top dressing (2-4 cm layer) two or three times a year

 

• When planting dig appropriately sized holes and mix in a one POSIDONIA® to two soil ratio

• On already installed trees use at least 20 lt (age up to 10 years) or  40lt (age at least 10 years) POSIDONIA® on the soil under tree’s foliage as mulch or work gently into the surface

 

Trees

Vegetables

 

When planting in a pot or jardinières (tomatoes / cucumbers / peppers)

Dig holes, add (2-3lt) Compost Hellas Posidonia® mix with  soil in a ratio of approximately one to one, stir well and plant

In beets: (lettuce / onion / celery / parsley / greens)

Spread 80 lt Compost Hellas Posidonia® in 10 m², scratch lightly on top to mix with soil and plant the new seedlings at a distance (10-15cm)(depending on cultivation) or sow the seeds

In existing plants:

We use   Compost Hellas Posidonia® surface,  around the stem of the plant (perimeter)

Vineyards

• When installing new vinery mix 2lt POSIDONIA® well with soil per plant
• On installed vineries use 8-12lt POSIDONIA® per vine as mulch

 

Seedings

Seedlings and young plants:
•    Mix in a one POSIDONIA®, two soil, half perlite or pumice and one sand ratio. Keep blend slightly moist for 15-30 days and then sow or plant seedlings

 

Agricultural crops

  • Production of edible products:  Every year we apply 1 big bag  of compost Posidonia® for each hectare, over the entire surface or in the  planting lines.

  • Production of non-food products: Every three years, we apply 4 big bags of compost Posidonia® per hectare.

Lawns

Lawns:
 Lawn laying: Gently work POSIDONIA® into the surface (at least 100 lt per 50 m2) when preparing the ground
 Lawns: Scatter 4-8 handfuls of POSIDONIA® per m2 once or twice a year for maintenance
