USES
OF COMPOST HELLAS
VEGETABLES & SOFT FRUITS: Spread
compost as a top dressing 4-6cm deep on the soil and mix
to a depth of 6-8cm, or dig appropriately sized holes and
mix in a ratio of one of compost to two of soil before planting,
or use as a surface mulch around plants to increase moisture
retention and nutrient content
TREES & VINES: When planting, dig appropriately
sized holes and mix in a ratio of one compost to two of
soil, ïr use as a surface mulch around plants to increase
moisture retention and nutrient content.
FLOWER BEDS: Spread compost as a top dressing 4-6cm
deep on the soil and dig compost into the bed before planting,
or use as a surface mulch around plants to increase moisture
retention and nutrient content.
SHRUBS & ROSES: When planting, dig appropriately
sized holes and mix in a ratio of one compost to two of
soil. Or use as a surface mulch around plants to increase
moisture retention and nutrient content.
POT PLANTS & CONTAINERS: For potting mix compost
in equal proportions with topsoil or add as a top dressing
2-5 cm deep.
SEEDLINGS & YOUNG PLANTS: Mix and use in a ratio
of one compost to two of soil/ river' s sand
LAWNS: Spread compost in the spring or autumn applying 4-8
handfuls per square metre. For new lawns apply compost 4-8
cm deep and mix with soil to create a seed bed and then
sow the lawn.

pot plants and containers
